The Barrier Scroll is a fantasy graphic novel series currently being published online as a webcomic.

I plan to tell the whole story of The Barrier Scroll in 3 books/seasons, with a release time of once a month, time permitting. Seasons 1, 2, and 3 are fully written and ready for comic adaptation. We have a Beginning, and an End. Thank you for coming along on this journey. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoy making it.

The narrative is inspired by stories I grew up with that include: The Neverending Story, The Last Unicorn, The Dark Crystal, Labyrinth, and Star Wars. Book series like Lord of the Rings, and The Wheel of Time. As well as games like the Quest for Glory series and Dungeons and Dragons. The art style combines the lush palettes and dramatic silhouettes of 80s/90s animation with a mature, high-fantasy comic aesthetic.

Premise

When a forgotten magic awakens in a young woman, the truth behind a legendary scroll and the history rewritten to bury it threaten to ignite a war.

Synopsis

Oriole seeks the fabled Barrier Scroll, lured by the prosperity it grants to those deemed worthy. Torn from her familiar world, she finds fellowship in the Onyx Guard and an unlikely ally in the fire-bound soldier, Ryn Alrae. As her rare magic awakens and Emperor Su’neth’s hunger for her power grows, Oriole must uncover the truth behind the Scroll—and the price it demands.
