The Gilded Collection arrives Nov 1st on thebarrierscroll.etsy.com, and it’s the first collection name picked by you all, the readers! It’s a beautiful name, Gilded! This collection was inspired by all the collectables I cherished as a child, like a lithograph print from an animated movie, or a magnet of one of my favorite books from the scholastic book fair!

covered or tinged with gold or a golden color
In The Barrier Scroll, you’ll know that gold is a theme I use quite often in the story, it’s also the color of Oriole’s magic. The word Oriole itself comes from the Latin aureolus—a diminutive of aurum (gold)—which literally translates to “golden” or “the little golden one”. In the narrative, she is named after an oriole bird with beautiful black and gold plumage. So gilded is quite fitting here with this collection. Have a peek at the new collection, it’s one of my favorites yet:
